Recognizing the role of Start-ups, the Smart Cities Mission will work  to create an innovation eco-system in Smart Cities through SPIRIT--Smart Cities Promoting Innovation Research and Incubation in Technology. It is an initiative in collaboration with Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) and Start-up India program harnessing the strengths of the three initiatives. This will foster creation of an eco-system for innovations in Smart Cities, enabling local area development, harnessing technology and providing boost to the economy.
